Morgan Roth is an Agoura Hills Planning Commissioner. He spent his first birthday in Agoura Hills, attended local public schools, and is a UC Irvine alumnus. He lives near Reyes Adobe Park with his wife, Nicole, and two children, Ella and Noah.

Morgan has always been deeply involved with the community, from participating in sports and playing music locally to developing rock climbing areas nearby, and now, pursuing his passion for public service.

Morgan’s professional journey began in Congress, where he worked on legislative policy concerning lapsed prescription drug take-back programs during the height of the opioid epidemic. While working in D.C., one call changed everything for Morgan. A Vietnam veteran called to thank the office for helping him secure $250,000 in overdue VA backpay, a life-altering result. Seeing how effective advocacy could transform the lives of those who served our nation deepened Morgan’s own lifelong commitment to public service.

From there, Morgan worked to elect local members of the California State Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, and he spent two years leading a Los Angeles-area congressional office that included the Port of Los Angeles. In this capacity, Morgan became deeply involved in transportation, environmental, and local policymaking, which would lead to the next chapter of his career.

For the past 10 years, Morgan has worked for companies at the intersection of transportation and advancing technology, believing in a future where there are fewer accidents on our roads and more sustainable options for commuting. Now, he leads local and state public policy for a multibillion-dollar transportation technology company at the forefront of driving efficiency, sustainability, and safety in every major commercial sector in America.

Like many residents of Agoura Hills, Morgan’s parents settled here to ensure their children would enjoy a high quality of life with access to an incredible public education. Morgan represents the next generation with that same belief in Agoura Hills. On City Council, his primary goal will be to ensure those values are maintained while driving initiatives that move our city forward.

As one of the youngest planning commissioners in city history, Morgan was chosen by his peers to be Chair.
